A heatwave in China’s Zhejiang province has seen temperatures reach a scorching 38C, and it seems one family has found a novel way of keeping cool in the relentless heat.
Zhou Yuhang, who lives in Wenzhou city in east China, has no need to contend with the crowds flocking to public swimming pools after his father converted the back of his van into a mobile paddling pool.
The six-year-old’s resourceful father removed the seats from the back of the van and lined it with plastic before filling the back of the vehicle up with water, creating a private ‘pool’ for Zhou Yuhang to splash around in any time he fancies a dip.
The youngster’s father has kitted the pool out with an inflatable ring and other toys for six-year-old to enjoy.
The British summer may be a wash out but in China news outlets reported an increase in the sales of ice creams as temperatures continue to soar in eastern and southern parts of the country.
ChinaDaily said a new water spray system had been introduced at a bus station in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, to help keep commuters cool as they waited in the blistering heat.
