Same-Sex Couples Went To Chick-fil-As Across The Nation To Stage A ‘Kiss-In’

via Business Insider:

On Wednesday, we showed you some of the best user photos from “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” which became a conservative-fueled success.

On Friday came the LGBT community’s response to that — National Same Sex Kiss Day, in which thousands of LGBT supporters are expected to flock to the chicken chain’s restaurants.

Chick-fil-A president and COO Dan Cathy’s anti-gay marriage stance has quickly become political fodder for both sides of the issue.

Two days ago, conservatives helped make “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” a success by attending in droves. Politicians from former Gov. Mike Huckabee, who led the call for the day with a Facebook event page, to former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, offered support and called on supporters to visit a restaurant.

Today, users are already uploading photos of the same-sex “Kiss In” day at Chick-fil-A, which are being posted on the group’s Facebook page and on Instagram.

This “Kiss for Equality” photo was taken outside an apparently closed Chick-fil-A.

This was taken at a Los Angeles Chick-fil-A.

Event creator Carly MacGahee said “event is intended to show Chick-Fil-A how many people their donations and decisions are affecting.”

This couple dressed up in wedding garb.

This was in Tennessee.

Organizers set up a Facebook event page and a Tumblr.

A same-sex couple from Toronto was in Chicago for the day.

In Georgia.

Again in Illinois.

The Facebook pages urges same-sex couples to “celebrate love.”

The “Kiss In” is expected to reach its peak at 8 p.m.

This photo, taken before today, has become widely shared by the group.
